Welcome to the Broad Brook School Library!

Elaine Shapiro is the new library media specialist. "I am enjoying getting to know the students and sharing my love of reading with them!"

The library is open from 8:45 am to  3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.  The children are always in here, but parents, this is your library too.  We invite you to come into the library, browse, and borrow books to read with your children.

To look for a book in our library go to Athena, our online catalog.

In addition to the collection of 14,000 books, the library has 3 computers for students' use, videos and other resources for teachers, magazines, student workspace and a story reading area with a colorful rug.

Book Borrowing Policy

Students in grades K-4 may borrow 1  book during each library class, and keep it  for up to 2 weeks.  Taking books out of  the library provides children with reading  material at home, and teaches  responsibility.  When a student returns a  book, he or she may borrow another.  If a  student loses or damages a book, he or  she must pay for it before borrowing  another book.  Students also have library  cards.  Parents, please help your child  keep this card in the books they borrow;  without it they cannot borrow more books.
